Former Syracuse player Brandon Paul was taken into custody on drug-related charges, and Shawn “Diddy” Combs was charged with prostitution.
The former Syracuse guard Brandon Paul was taken into custody on Monday on two drug-related charges, according to Miami-Dade County police records. According to law authorities and the Associated Press, musician Sean “Diddy” Combs’ residences in Los Angeles and Miami were seized by federal agents as part of an ongoing investigation into possible sex trafficking. This led to the rapper’s arrest.
Paul was detained at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport on grave accusations of having suspected cocaine and suspected marijuana candy, according to records that USA Today was able to obtain. According to the complaint, authorities discovered food items and cocaine in Paul’s travel bag. Paul’s hearing is set for April 24 and he was freed on $2,500 bail on Tuesday.
This arrest had nothing to do with the raid on Combs’ homes, despite the coincidence of date. But Paul’s name has come up in relation to Combs’s alleged involvement in sex trafficking.
Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a federal lawsuit against Combs in February, claiming that the two had sexually assaulted men and women. Jones further asserted that Paul “works as Mr. Combs’ pimp.” He buys and sells the firearms and drugs owned by Mr.
The Athletic was told by Bryan Bieber, Paul’s lawyer, “We’re not planning to try this case in the media – all issues will be addressed in court.”
Paul walked on to the Syracuse men’s basketball team in 2018 and participated in 16 games across the course of two seasons. At Division-II Fairmont State, where he played 35 games over two seasons for the Fighting Falcons, he concluded his collegiate career.
